Degree course in financial planning _ Beaumont Robinson has been instrumental in the launch of the first
Financial Planning BSc Degree Course in the UK. Through our influence, there is now a recognised degree course in financial planning. _
The first intake of undergraduates on the four year course began their studies at Bradford University School of Management in September 2010.
An entry into the IFA profession _ Prior to the degree course initiative at Bradford School of Management, there was no clear path to becoming a qualified independent financial adviser. Routes into the profession were via indirect paths such as business accounting or in-house office administration. That has now changed with the introduction of this pioneering course. We are sure it is the start of something big!
_ The BSc degree is a four year course aimed directly at arming graduates with the tools they will need to start a successful career as independent financial advisers. Since 2008, many more younger people are becoming aware that financial planning has a major bearing on their lives and those around them. A career in the financial services sector can give the newly qualified an opportunity to positively affect many peoples lives.
School Workshops _ Gaining access to the IFA profession via the university degree is great news. We also believe finding the talent and nurturing interest at an earlier age, is key to creating our future financial advisers. Beaumont Robinson are actively involved in these school workshops.
_ This four minute video gives you an idea of the way we are going about it. The process is already generating a lot of interest, both amongst the teachers and pupils, but also those in the IFA profession. If you are a teacher and think your pupils could benefit from one of our workshops, please get in touch with our managing director Michael Wall on 01274 538766.
